For the past 4 years, since she joined Imperial College, Dr. Gawer has consistently been voted the most highly-rated faculty of all core courses by Imperial Executive MBAs. She welcomes the opportunity to engage in Executive Education, and specializes in teaching strategy, management of technological innovation, and – logically – platform leadership, to a variety of audiences.
Dr. Gawer’s experience in Executive Education was shaped by her 4 years as faculty at INSEAD, and honed in at Imperial College. Teaching to executive audiences is a completely different endeavor than teaching to less experienced participants, -- and requires very specific skills and a careful and respectful approach. Executive Education participants’ evaluations consistently noted that Dr. Gawer has a rare degree of fluency in translating powerful business insights to a variety of audiences, and in helping participants to partake in a clear and inspiring learning experience.
Perhaps due to her original training and first career in engineering, Dr. Gawer has a degree of intimacy with innovation-related issues and the culture of engineering, which sometimes elude other management educators. She enjoys and is usually commended for her fluency in translating business insights to technically-savvy people.
